RALEIGH (Feb. 14, 2011) – Members of the budget coalition Together NC will be responding live to Gov. Bev Perdue’s State of the State address tonight, and will be available for media commentary immediately afterward.
During the speech, coalition members will post to the @togethernc Twitter account, which is available on the web at www.twitter.com/togethernc. They will use the hashtag #sosNC to offer real-time observations.
Immediately after the speech, Together NC will issue a press statement and be available for interviews with interested reporters.
Together NC is a coalition of more than 120 member groups concerned with the state budget. Organizer Rob Thompson will attend the speech at the General Assembly, and organizer Louisa Warren will be available via mobile phone for media comment.
“Gov. Perdue has choices at her disposal -- she can show real leadership and move this state forward, or she can turn to quick fixes that don’t address the real issues,” said Warren. “We will all find out tonight which path she chooses.”
