Jessica Rocha joined the Justice Center as a paralegal in the new Eastern Carolina Immigrants’ Rights Project in January 2008. Up until then, she worked as a newspaper reporter for the News & Observer, mostly covering crime and courts out of the newspaper’s Chapel Hill bureau. Originally from the Chicago area, Jessica received her master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and then reported from the U.S.-Mexico border, focusing mostly on workforce and consumer issues in Mexico and the United States.
