As a freelance contributor at The New York Times, I write a weekly column, “Your Money Adviser,” that covers personal finance topics such as health care, retirement, college saving, taxes, and more. I have a Master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University and over 25 years of experience as a journalist, working with various publications and media outlets.

I excel at making complex issues understandable and accessible for readers. Previously, I was a staff reporter at The Wall Street Journal, where I covered real estate and banking, and contributed to a Pulitzer Prize-nominated package of stories about Hurricane Katrina. I have also won a state award for my coverage of AIDS in Vermont.
