Dani Moore (she or they) joined the Justice Center in 2003, serving as the coordinator of the NC Network of Immigrant Advocates, and later as the Director of the Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project. In 2023, she shifted her focus and responsibilities to focus on policy advocacy and engagement strategies related to transportation justice and clean energy. Dani works collaboratively with partners statewide, brings a movement-building orientation to her work, and supports the leadership of people directly affected by unjust policies.
Prior to coming to the Justice Center, Dani worked with progressive social change groups in North Carolina and Massachusetts, including work in the areas of literacy and popular education, immigrants’ rights, economic justice, and women’s issues. They grew up in Tarboro, NC, and earned a B.A. in Economics from Wake Forest University. She also has a Master’s degree from Harvard Divinity School, where she studied the Civil Rights movement and faith-based efforts to fight poverty and racism.
