Executive Directors of Black-Led Nonprofits Call on Hospital Leaders to Support the Medical Debt Relief Incentive Program from NCDHHS

RALEIGH (July 31, 2024) – As Black Executive Directors of nonprofit organizations around the state who are committed to the collective wellbeing, prosperity, and advancement of Black North Carolinians, we are releasing this letter to urge hospitals to support the medical debt relief incentive program from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

With the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ recent approval of the medical debt relief incentive program, it is imperative that hospitals live up to their mission and vision of building healthier communities by focusing on whole-person health, equity, and holistic care through this win-win proposal.
